CBD Oil – Frequently Asked Questions
Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a chemical compound that is extracted from hemp and is just one of more than 100 different cannabinoids you will find in this plant. This particular cannabinoid has caught the attention of the wellness industry with its potential therapeutic properties, offering a sense of calm and overall wellbeing.
The answer is no. This is one of the biggest misconceptions about CBD. We can confirm that our CBD does not have the ability to produce any kind of psychoactive “high” because it only contains trace amounts of THC in some products and no (Tetrahydrocannabinol), the main psychoactive ingredient of hemp in others.
CBD edibles are legal in the UK as long as they do not contain more than 0.2% of THC. This is a controlled substance under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. For CBD products to be legally sold, they must also be derived from an industrial hemp strain.
We recommend sublingual administration for CBD oil. This involves placing a few small drops under your tongue, giving the CBD time to diffuse into the bloodstream through the tissues in your mouth.
This is far more effective than simple swallowing because it significantly reduces the length of the journey into your bloodstream.
As with all CBD products, we recommend starting small and slowly building your tolerance to see optimal effects. For a 10% CBD Oil, for example, we suggest starting with 20 to 40mg a day. After a week, based on your needs, try increasing this amount by 5mg weekly until your dose feels right.
To store your CBD oil, we suggest that you keep it in an upright position at a stable temperature, away from extreme light, heat, or moisture. A dry pantry cupboard is a great place to store your oil, or in the refrigerator.
